In October 1981, Ward Truckload Express began operating as the Keystone Division of Ward Trucking Corp. The company originally consisted of four or five local owner operators using trailers borrowed from our LTL division. The majority of our business through the 1980's was short haul, intrastate PA with some interstate shipments between PA, MD, NJ and NY on vans and flatbeds.
In 1989, we began hiring our own company drivers and by the early 1990's , began servicing points in OH, IN & IL. The company was renamed Ward Truckload Express, LLC and today, operates with 124 company drivers, 122 tractors & 375 53' Dry Box trailers. |
